Become a director and a dramaturg

A dramaturg suggests what a theater will play. Together with the director they then figure out what about and how the theater will play it. And then the director rehearses it with the ensemble. But how?
How do you achieve that the actors listen to you? How do you achieve that the audience enjoys your performance? How can it be that one director is able to manage all the actors, crew, lighting technicians, sound technicians and musicians? How does it go at rehearsals?
